Court and Theater for the City of Deer Park
The Deer Park Theater is part of a dual function facility meeting the needs of the community in seemingly two divergent uses. The theater set the major criteria of special areas and the court enjoys the utilization of the ample seating capacity for its court proceedings. The three hundred-seat theater has a proscenium opening of thirty-two feet by sixteen feet, a workshop, rehearsal area, lounge, dressing and offices spaces.
The sound and lighting systems are operated from control rooms over the rear of the auditorium. The interior finishes include custom designed millwork, flooring and lighting. The seating is laid out symmetrically and spaced for a dinner theater arrangement.
The architecture picks up the playfulness of theater in its barrel vault skylight, lighting, and the multi-tier arched entry. Granite, marble and precast concrete are the materials of permanence to solidify a timeless design style.
