International Center for Trade for the City of Eagle Pass

The Eagle Pass International Center for Trade is a multi-function facility of approximately 46,000 square feet situated prominently on a sixteen-acre site donated to the city by C. C. Wynn.  The site is on a bluff over looking the city.  White limestone is the material featured for the massive entry elements with the upper portion in matching white stucco with a band of colored ceramic tile.  A gray standing seam metal roof carries out the theme over the high volume exhibit areas. A circulation spine crosses diagonally the basic square building plan connecting the two main entries, leading the visitor into the building from the parking areas.  Multifunction areas range from small meeting/conference rooms to a multidivisional grand exhibit room of 16,000 square feet to seat 1000 at a banquet, 2,000 for theater seating, or have up to 70 exhibit booths, to a special function room with glass exposure over looking the city and access to a landscaped garden for weddings and receptions. The infrastructure is in place for the use of the latest in audio/visual technology and is set up for computer classes, exhibits.  It will also be used for possible hands on training by industries in Mexico and for corporate meetings.  Service areas include large storage space for furniture and equipment and a large catering preparation area to serve banquet and gala functions.  The facility is designed to meet the Committee’s desire to have offices for additional agencies.  Included in the office area is a corporate type conference room with tele-conferencing infrastructure built in.  The conference area is available for use by the community and corporations.
